Flood- A multi disciplinary solo piece.
A collaboration with artist Nivi Alroy.

Flood reveals the story of an individual who survived the day after a big disaster, when there’s almost no remains from the world she knew before. Flood displays a visual picture that allows a moment to reflect on a new, lonely realty. The audience can ponder about a possibility of finding themselves in this reality. The show creates a connection between the visual fantasy of “the end” and the fear from this moment. The creation seeks a direct link between our behavior and our habits to the extreme changes in our environment. While finding a connection between the two artistic languages of Nivi Alroy and Ella Rothschild a new, a dark world reveals and exposing a tragic truth.

12 Postdated Checks

The work 12 Postdated Checks deals with one of the burning issues in the Israeli public debate recently – the housing shortage. Many young people find themselves in a vicious race whose participants compete for nearly uninhabitable apartments. The search for the ultimate apartment invites countless grotesque situations. The work delves precisely into those moments in a humorous performance that combines text and movement.

In 12 Postdated Checks Ella works with 10-20 young local dancers and with her former room-mate.

The work is performed together with  the duet Tango (2010) to form an entire evening.

“Expressionistic epos with cinematic qualities”

Idit Suslik, Mouse (November 2015)

ACORD

ACORD creates a grotesque image of a female character seeking a moment of peace, yet finding herself tangled in objects and strings. Through the character’s desperate attempt to create a sterile, effortlessly floating bubble, the viewer gets a glimpse of the wonderful, grim, humorous and contradictory world of an individual in the big city.

The work combines object theatre, dance, text and live music and singing.
